Date

September 25, 2016

Time

4-5PM

Ivy Bookshop Stage

From folk tales to best-selling novels, books are a rich source of material for plays. Have you ever wondered how a story gets translated from book form into a script and then brought to life on stage? In this session, members of the artistic and dramaturgy staff at Center Stage will discuss the staging of literary adaptations. The speakers will draw on real-world examples including Center Stage’s recent productions of The Secret Garden and Pride and Prejudice, as well as the upcoming Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The White Snake, and Jazz.

Speakers:
Gavin Witt, Associate Artistic Director/Director of Dramaturgy at Center Stage
Deanie Vallone, The Judy & Scott Phares Dramaturgy Fellow at Center Stage
