Getting to the festival

The festival takes place on E 30th Street, E 31st Street, and E 32nd St between Greenmount Avenue and Barclay Street.

By Public Transportation

Waverly has great connections to Baltimore’s bus system.

If you are coming from Downtown Baltimore, consider taking the free Circulator  Purple Line, which will drop you off right at the northwest corner of the festival footprint.

From the north or south, you can take the CityLink Red Line from Downtown or from Towson to 33rd  and Greenmount, a short block from the northwest corner of the footprint. From Curtis Bay or Morgan State, you can take the CityLink Silver Line to the same intersection. Local line #22 running between Mondawmin and Johns Hopkins Bayview also drops you at 33rd and Greenmount—and connects to the Light Rail at the Woodberry Station.

If you are coming from further away, the Book Festival is just 1.6 miles away from Baltimore’s Penn Station—a nice walk, an easy trip on an e-scooter, or a short hop in a taxi or rideshare.

By Bicycle

While the streets are busy, this is a great neighborhood to bike to and around. If you are coming from the west, we recommend in particular the Big Jump over 83 and the new separated bike line on 28th st that brings you quite close to the festival. From downtown, the Maryland avenue cycle track will also bring you nearly to the neighborhood. From the east, 33rd St. has marked bike lines. Many of the smaller streets in the area are generally really lovely for biking.
